The Red Shoes

Winner of two Academy Awards, this Powell and Pressburger gem follows a gorgeous red-headed ballet dancer who is poised to become a superstar until she falls for the composer of a ballet called “The Red Shoes,” in which she is starring. When a year later she has the chance for stardom again, the struggle between her passion for dance and her heart proves to be too much and leads to a tragic decision.

Restored by UCLA Film & Television Archive in association with the BFI, The Film Foundation, ITV Studios, Global Entertainment Ltd., and Janus Films. Restoration funding provided by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, The Film Foundation, and the Louis B. Mayer Foundation.
