A Conversation with Michael Shannon

The RiverRun International Film Festival will present Oscar-nominated actor Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road, Boardwalk Empire) with the 2011 Emerging Master Award. A rising star in the cinema world, Shannon will be honored for his powerful performances that have made him an emerging master of his craft.

The award will be presented at 6:30pm on Monday, April 11 at the Babcock Theatre at UNC School of the Arts. The
event is free and open to the public, and tickets are available through our box office at the Stevens Center (limit 2 per person).

Shannon has appeared in more than 50 films and gained an Academy Award nomination for his supporting role in Revolutionary Road (2008). Other critically‐acclaimed performances include Bug (2006), Shotgun Stories (2007), and last year's visionary Werner Herzog film My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done, a RiverRun selection. More recently, Shannon appeared in the Emmy‐award winning HBO series Boardwalk Empire.
