With the advance of digital filmmaking and new technological advances, the 35mm film print has become something of a relic. Joining forces with the top archives around the country, RiverRun and UNCSA have constructed a panel of experts to discuss their mammoth job of preserving and exhibiting some of the world’s last remaining film prints. This panel discussion is free and open to the public.
Bring your canine companion down to Fourth Street for the evening to watch a movie under the stars--the 2009 Pixar gem Up! (Humans and dogs only, please!) Sponsored by Flow Subaru
The expiration date for North Carolina’s tax incentive for film production is looming large and major debates have broken out in Raleigh over whether to renew it. RiverRun will bring together industry representatives this spring to discuss the impact our current film tax incentive has had so far and what would happen if it was eliminated. This panel is free and open to the public.
In an effort to further promote the development of new filmmaking talent, RiverRun is again partnering with universities around the state to present the annual Pitch Fest competition. Pre- selected student filmmakers will pitch their documentary shorts projects to a panel of industry experts, receive advice on how to proceed, and vie for the chance to win prizes and industry recognition. This panel is free and open to the public.
